Samsung BlackJack II Review

Samsung BlackJack II

One of the more popular smartphones of 2007 was the Samsung BlackJack, and it’s not hard to see why. It offered solid messaging capabilities, 3G support, and good call quality, all wrapped up into one attractive and sleek package. However, the love affair was ruined for some after numerous battery drain issues, which subsequently led to Samsung shipping the BlackJack with an extended battery. Well, now the BlackJack’s successor is out, and it takes care of that issue and then some.

The Samsung BlackJack II not only features … Continue Reading

Samsung Haven Review

Samsung HavenWhen we first learned of the Samsung Haven for Verizon Wireless, we thought it was a thick, boxy brick of a senior phone. Since then, we’ve come to better appreciate its usability charms. In the spectrum of cell phones geared toward the silver-haired set, the Haven sits right in the middle. It neither resembles a telephonic calculator like the Just5 J509, nor is it as tech savvy as the PCD CDM8635, with its 1.3-megapixel camera and hearing assistance features.

The Samsung Haven forgoes a camera–not necessarily a detriment–and focuses instead … Continue Reading

Samsung Gusto Review

Samsung Gusto

As an entry-level metallic-gray-and-black flip phone, the Samsung Gusto is the spitting image of the Samsung Smooth, though its feature set and design slightly differ. Although there are some nice features inside, phone’s build and call quality are pretty unremarkable. The price, however, is very low–free from Verizon.com after an online discount and a new two-year contract, and $19.99 with a new contract after a $50 mail-in rebate, if you pick it up in retail stores.

Design

Though one on hand the gray-and-black Samsung Gusto is a decently attractive flip phone, … Continue Reading

Samsung Fascinate Review

Samsung FascinateAs Samsung’s Galaxy S devices have hit T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint, Verizon Wireless customers have had to stand idly by waiting for their turn at the company’s new Android phones. That time has finally come. The Samsung Fascinate will be available online starting September 8 and in stores September 9 for $199.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. Like the others, the Fascinate offers a gorgeous Super AMOLED touch screen, a great multimedia experience, and smooth performance. It’s a great addition to Verizon’s lineup to … Continue Reading

Samsung Restore SPH-m570 Looks Beautiful

Samsung Restore SPH-m570Samsung phones are always pretty, whether it’s cheap or expensive. Check out this.

Samsung was one of the first cell phone manufacturers to jump on the eco-friendly bandwagon with the Samsung Blue Earth, which has solar panels on its back, and the Samsung Reclaim, which is partially made out of recycled materials. The Samsung Restore is a successor to the Reclaim, albeit with a slightly different design. It too is made out of recycled materials–up to 27 percent in fact–and if you decide to get rid of it, … Continue Reading

Samsung Gravity T459

Samsung Gravity T459The Samsung Gravity T459 is a nice keyboard phone for the average T-Mobile user. It has a QWERTY keyboard, GPRS/EDGE wireless connectivity, a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, and Bluetooth. The phone has cool color choices of either aqua and white or lime and grey. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard has keys that have a smooth, pop out texture. This is definitely a phone for the younger set. The fonts and background colors can be changed which give it a colorful appeal. An interesting feature is the self-portrait mirror on the … Continue Reading

Samsung Glyde cellphone review

Samsung GlydeThe Samsung Glyde is a candy bar style phone with a sliding full QWERTY keyboard and a touch screen display. Designed to compete with other high end touchscreen phones like the Apple iPhone and the HTC Touch, the Samsung Glyde packs in a lot of high end features that will appeal to the high tech fanatics. Unfortunately, as has been the case with several of the more recent Samsung phones, the build quality on the Samsung Glyde is shoddy, causing the device to lose much of its allure.

The Samsung Glyde is a … Continue Reading

Samsung G800 cellphone review

Samsung G800If you consider the ability to capture images to be an important feature on your phone, then the Samsung G800 is definitely worth looking into. One of the standout features is a camera that does just about anything you could want. The unit is equipped with bells and whistles such as a bright Xenon flash and a zoom lens that makes close-ups a breeze. At the same time, the resolution is one of the best in the industry, with a solid 5 megapixel configuration.

One thing to note about the Samsung G800 is that the … Continue Reading

Samsung Fin review

Samsung Fin

The Samsung Fin is your run of the mill Samsung styled clamshell flip phone. With a design clearly suited for style and utility, the Samsung Fin is not the type of phone that corporate types or tech junkies are interested in. It\’s used to talk into, text your friends from time to time, take a quick snapshot or two, and maybe listen to some music when your iPod is nowhere to be found. Other than that, don\’t expect anything fancy from this phone and you certainly won\’t be disappointed.

Samsung has established itself … Continue Reading
