Samsung BlackJack II Review

Samsung BlackJack II

One of the more popular smartphones of 2007 was the Samsung BlackJack, and it’s not hard to see why. It offered solid messaging capabilities, 3G support, and good call quality, all wrapped up into one attractive and sleek package. However, the love affair was ruined for some after numerous battery drain issues, which subsequently led to Samsung shipping the BlackJack with an extended battery. Well, now the BlackJack’s successor is out, and it takes care of that issue and then some.

The Samsung BlackJack II not only features … Continue Reading

Samsung Haven Review

Samsung HavenWhen we first learned of the Samsung Haven for Verizon Wireless, we thought it was a thick, boxy brick of a senior phone. Since then, we’ve come to better appreciate its usability charms. In the spectrum of cell phones geared toward the silver-haired set, the Haven sits right in the middle. It neither resembles a telephonic calculator like the Just5 J509, nor is it as tech savvy as the PCD CDM8635, with its 1.3-megapixel camera and hearing assistance features.

The Samsung Haven forgoes a camera–not necessarily a detriment–and focuses instead … Continue Reading

Samsung Gusto Review

Samsung Gusto

As an entry-level metallic-gray-and-black flip phone, the Samsung Gusto is the spitting image of the Samsung Smooth, though its feature set and design slightly differ. Although there are some nice features inside, phone’s build and call quality are pretty unremarkable. The price, however, is very low–free from Verizon.com after an online discount and a new two-year contract, and $19.99 with a new contract after a $50 mail-in rebate, if you pick it up in retail stores.

Design

Though one on hand the gray-and-black Samsung Gusto is a decently attractive flip phone, … Continue Reading

Samsung Fascinate Review

Samsung FascinateAs Samsung’s Galaxy S devices have hit T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint, Verizon Wireless customers have had to stand idly by waiting for their turn at the company’s new Android phones. That time has finally come. The Samsung Fascinate will be available online starting September 8 and in stores September 9 for $199.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. Like the others, the Fascinate offers a gorgeous Super AMOLED touch screen, a great multimedia experience, and smooth performance. It’s a great addition to Verizon’s lineup to … Continue Reading

Samsung Epic 4G Review

Samsung Epic 4GOut of all the phones in the Samsung Galaxy S series, the Samsung Epic 4G strikes us as the most desirable for power users. Like all Galaxy S phones, the Epic 4G has a large Super AMOLED touch screen, a 1GHz Hummingbird Cortex A8 processor, and it will have access to Samsung’s upcoming Media Hub store. The Epic 4G layers on several enticing extras that its line mates don’t have–such as a slide-out keyboard, a front-facing camera, an LED flash, and most intriguing of all, it supports … Continue Reading

Samsung M500 cellphone review

Samsung M500

The Samsung M500 is a decent phone that offers a very small form and packs a lot of feature, but it ultimately comes up short in a few ways. The Samsung M500 is a very thin and light weight clamshell phone that works on CDMA networks. It includes great features such as a mega pixel camera, MP3 music player, EVDO high speed data technology and a memory card slot. The Samsung M500 is generally regarded as the new and improved A900 with a smaller and lighter form. … Continue Reading

Samsung M3200-Beat-S cellphone review

Samsung M3200-Beat-SWhen looking over the Samsung M3200-Beat-S, it immediately becomes apparent that the big draw with this device is going to be the entertainment capability. The dedicated music keys are a clear indication of what this phone is all about. But the evidence does not stop there. The Beat-S features the shake control that is common to many Samsung units, along with an easy turn-to-mute feature, an excellent FM radio and a feature rich music player. You can even set up play lists to fit your mood using the track sorting feature. To top everything … Continue Reading

Samsung FlipShot-U900 cellphone review

Samsung FlipShot-U900

The Samsung Flipshot-U900 has a lot going for it, with a new size and extra features that will please many consumers. One of the nice features on the Flipshot-U900 is the twist display on the form factor design of the shell. Along with this enhancement, there are a few other features that help to make the U900 stand out in the general market, as well as among other Samsung offerings.
